ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
Due to its durability and heat-resistant properties, asbestos (a naturally occurring mineral fiber) was used for years to manufacture construction materials such as insulation, ceiling and floor tiles, roofing materials, soundproofing materials, textured paint, joint and patching compounds, and cement products. However, these products can disintegrate over time, releasing tiny fibers of asbestos-containing materials. Prolonged exposure to such fibers can result in serious health consequences, including lung cancer and asbestosis. To mitigate such risks, we commonly remove aging and deteriorating asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from buildings and transport the waste material to licensed disposal sites. In some circumstances where we’ve identified ACMs in good condition that don’t require immediate removal, we can encapsulate ACMs with a sealant to prevent the release of asbestos fibers.
DUST AND INFECTION CONTROL
Clean work areas are a fundamental requirement for most buildings, and Kinetic Environmental prioritizes collecting, containing, and removing toxic and nuisance dust contaminants. In addition, we provide infection control plans, hoarding plans, containment design and pressure monitoring. We employ high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter-equipped vacuum cleaners and negative air machines, dust suppression and damp wiping techniques to control and eliminate dust. Our well-trained project teams strictly follow CAN/CSA infection control standards and protocols and deploy the latest techniques and safety measures.
MOULD REMEDIATION

Kinetic Environmental offers services to mitigate and eliminate the challenges of mould, including inspections and testing, engineering controls, mould removal and remediation, and prevention measures.
MERCURY ABATEMENT
Many buildings contain mercury-containing devices, including fluorescent lamps, high-intensity discharge (HID) lights, switches, and thermostats. Kinetic will remove these products before demolition, using the latest equipment and technology to prevent cross-contamination and strictly following personnel and equipment decontamination protocols to prevent mercury dispersion.
PCB ABATEMENT
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are synthetic compounds with stable chemical properties used mainly in electrical components until the 1970s due to their durability and heat and light resistance. PCBs have been prohibited in Canada since 1977. Kinetic crews have the capabilities and experience to safely and efficiently identify, handle, remove, and dispose of any PCB-containing materials.

AVIAN AND RODENT PATHOGENS CONTROL
Kinetic Environmental offers services to mitigate the risk of disease and infection imposed by pathogens left by rodents, birds, and other pests. We implement zoning to define infected and disease-free areas, removing contaminated materials, and thermally treat and decontaminate the premises. As one example, our project teams are well-trained in biosecurity and have successfully eradicated the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) virus across dozens of large-scale poultry farms across Canada.
SELECTIVE DEMOLITION
Some projects require portions of a building or structure to be dismantled through selective demolition rather than demolishing the entire building. We develop innovative solutions to maintain the integrity of a building by planning and following selective demolition procedures, allowing us to preserve and salvage historic features where applicable. Further, we are experts in “strip-out,” which reduces a building to its original shell structure.
